The most common reason behind Vtec not engaging is from a lack of oil pressure to the synchro piston in the rocker arms, this can be cause by the rubber oil ring on the cylinder head that I point out in this video.The engine in the video was an Acura B18C1 GSR.Also not mentioned in the video that not having this O-Ring sealing or installed will starve your cams of oil causing ticking noises and premature cam failure.
